FIELD ENGINEER


Status: Hourly, Full-time, Benefit eligible
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location:  Unity, ME

Position Description:
The Field Engineer is responsible for the layout, tracking, utility locating, subcontractor administration,
quality and progress reporting, mapping, and as-build records for assigned work areas. This is not a
remote position. The assignment may include reporting to the engineering management team, project
controls, and/or quality assurance/quality control and remote work with groups in other office locations.
Job Duties:
 Ensure field engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the
overall construction schedule.
 Coordinate with the engineering group to assure completeness and correctness of design and
construction documents. Plan, conduct, and monitor work in accordance with engineering construction
plans and specifications.
 Utilize field computer applications on laptops or notebooks to facilitate the control and collection of
data for mapping (GPS/GIS/KMZ/AutoCAD), inspection, quantity performance, schedule performance,
and subcontract administration.
 Interface with on-site construction crews as required ensuring safety is maintained, quality of
construction, adherence to the overall project schedule, and tracking productivity goals.
 Update and maintain project documentation as required for Quality Control, job progress, and customer
sign-off.
 Responsible for clearly identifying issues requiring Project Manager attention.
 Responsible for ongoing communication and timely identification of issues to the Project
Engineer/Construction Project Manager, and pending or actual changes to the work performed that
may impact costs, schedule, contract, or customer relationship.
 Responsible for the correct safe and efficient locating of underground utilities.
 Responsible for the correct, safe, and efficient cataloging of aerial plant.
Qualifications:
 BA or BS Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technologies, or Construction Management is
acceptable. Relevant project field experience may also be substituted for education. A combination of
both is also acceptable.
 Must have computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, field applications for surveying, and data
management a plus.
 Knowledge of GIS systems is a plus, experience with esri or Crescent Link is a great plus, though not
required.
 Drafting experience and/or familiarity with AutoCad is also a plus, though not required
 Standard Driver’s License. Has and can maintain good driving record
 Ability to pass a drug screening

Computer Network Technician

Status: Hourly, Full-time, Benefit eligible                  

Reports to: Network Engineering Manager                           

Location:  Unity, ME

Position Description:

Responsible for providing LAN and desktop support.  Processing service orders and troubles and escalating them if needed.  Will assist System Admin with server work.

Job Duties:

  • Primary PC and LAN help desk support for employees
  • Assist Sys Admin with enterprise server and software support
  • Assist Network Engineers in installing, designing, configuring, and maintaining the network
  • Maintains systems support, and archiving procedures, performs daily server tape backups.
  • Install, test, and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.
  • Documents and maintains the company’s software and computer hardware inventories.
  • Keep current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements
  • Process Internet service orders and touble tickets.  Escalate as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Any combination of education and training equivalent to possession of an Associates degree in computer science, information systems or other related areas
  • Five years of experience supporting desktop computers running Windows
  • Experience in local area network management and administration
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, network cabling
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite
  • Standard Driver’s License.  Has and can maintain good driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
