UniTel – Recognized Nationally for Connecting Maine to the World
(L-R) Sen. Angus King (I-Maine); Shirley Bloomfield, CEO of NTCA; Laurie Osgood, CEO of UniTel; and FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel after UniTel was presented with the Smart Rural Community Award during a ceremony in Unity, Maine. (8.16.17)

Unitel has been recognized nationally for connecting Maine to the world. The Smart Rural Community Award is given by the NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association – to recognize businesses for their extraordinary achievements in promoting rural broadband networks and applications in rural communities.

Unitel was given the award after constructing nearly 100 miles of its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network in its service area. Unitel has also taken a lead role in promoting and sponsoring free digital literacy training in areas it serves.

Unitel was one of just 11 companies to receive the award nationally, and the first Maine-based company to receive it.

With Unitel, you can expect Superior Service and Remarkable Reach, and that reach continues to grow. For more information on our high speed broadband service with speeds up to 1GB, click here
